Our Story
Zingiberus was born from a bold idea, a deep bond and desire to create an experience that did not exist before. It started as a feeling. A feeling of connection. Of excitement. Of being fully alive in the moment.
From faraway time zones to a single, shared dream. Zingiberus brought both of us together through distance and bonded us even stronger.
Our story started during exchange. We connected through passion for learning, growing and following dreams. It was the time when we discovered our shared goals and admired each other’s desire to go through the journey regardless of how hard it might be. As this period was coming to an end we knew this connection would last. Just before departure I left the secret recipe, of what is now called Zingiberus, in Otilia’s notebook. Soon after, we started our story from two different countries.
We re-united in Amsterdam, excited to bring alive the words written earlier. From the favorite drink shared with those close to us we started creating a plan to elevate this hobby into something the world could experience as well.
Zingiberus is enjoyed best through our signature serve, the golden oyster. It’s an exclusive grounding ritual to connect with the present. From a beach in Portugal, to a rooftop in New York, Zingiberus invites you to slow down, Escape the rush and embrace the moment.
The bottle carries a hippo. Besides being our favorite animal (which Peter jokingly tells me we’ll have some in our backyard one day). For us, the hippo perfectly resembles the bold character of Zingiberus. Its fiery ginger, the zing, the golden oyster serve and the founders’ spirit.
We believe elegance lives in intention: how something is made, why it is shared and who is at the table. Zingiberus was meticulously made in Zaandam using fresh and flavourful Peruvian ginger amongst carefully selected natural ingredients. This ginger has the most pungent kick.
Zingiberus was created when we chose connection over convenience and turned distance into the luxury lifestyle spirit we couldn’t find.
